3 rangers and 1 warrior
2 ranger was a intereupt ranger
1 ranger was a trapper
and i was a elite sword warrior

my build is pretty simple

sever artery
gash
galrath slash
pure strike
savage slash
healing signet
aegis
resurect signet

15 sword
10 tactic
5 strenght
9 protectiong prayers :P

right before the fight i always cast aegis, then both of the interupt rangers would always target spell casters, while the trapper does his job, i go for whoever :P, suprisingly we won 28 consecutive games before all of us got bored and left :P

hmm, no elite skill???? wierd... and no sprint.... did your rangers bring snares? and aegis is well.... how do i put this.... a peice of crap in 4v4. Its freaking rediculous in 8v8, and sucks in 4v4. And guild wars is balanced enough that half of freaking rediculous is not good enough to play.

IMO, sword warriors are the best only when you are using your elite skill for something other than damage... whether its matyr or charge or whatnot, swords have quite a few good attack skills that are comparable, but still inferior to an axe warrior with eviscerate.

i think you are underestimating a distracting ranger Iraqalypse Now, i played with a really good one a bit before and he could totally, uttely, shut down a monk. while slowly killing it. i think the sword warrior can easily be made better by switching to axe or something, but having 2 distracting rangers is nothing to sneeze at.

not saying that the interrupt rangers are bad or anything, just that the warrior is suboptimal... nothing at all against the ranger builds, particularly since they weren't given, but uhh... If you told me you were running this build if you were on my team in team arena, i would kick you... no offense, but its very possible to do much better.

Interrupt Rangers are stupid broken right now. I'm not saying they can't be stopped or countered, and I'm not saying "omgz nurf now kthxbye" but I was messing around last night with testing some fast casting stuff and I had Fast Casting at 13 and was casting Flare, and got interrupted 3 different times by a Ranger... one Ranger. Not a team of them even spamming me.

Thats just silly. It doesn't matter if your warrior was great or terrible, coordinated interrupt Rangers rock my boxers in 4v4.

Are you guys that jealous of this guy because he won 28 in a row with a crappy warrior build with *GASP* no elite and Aegis?!?

While I agree it is pretty wasteful not having an elite, and Aegis is pretty crappy due to recharge/duration, you can be successful wasting skill slots if you have good support to back you up.

Ok so it takes you 3 minutes to win instead of 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Or maybe you missed 1 flawless victory out of the 28 matches you played. Not a big deal seriously.

You can have a perfectly fine build w/o an elite skill. You've just been trained to think that not having an elite is a big mistake. That's not necessarily true as specific builds may have no space for them. Or perhaps people actually center their build around a non-elite skill? This clearly isn't the case with this warrior build, but cut the guy some slack for gods sake.

Amen. Actually I've run several non-elite builds...elites don't always make a huge difference....as long as you know what you're doing that is =p

I just use a basic build on my pvp tank though...easy to smack down 3 other tanks at once....or take down about anything else. Basically a modified paladin lol.

I forget the point build though...I think: 9 healing, then just balanced strength and swordsmanship. Such an easy build but rarely gets taken down......

something thats gotten *so* annoying ive even started taking shield of deflection on my prot monk (!). (tombs not 4-4 fyi)

the gw staff is funny on rangers. they keep nerfing them but it just doesnt seem to work

Sheesh, people can't seem to come up with budget builds... I'm certain there are builds without elites that can get a job done...

Sword is probably, oddly enough, the BEST weapon to bring without an elite... [look at it's adrenal combo spike: Sever, Gash, Galrath, Final] That's NOT low dmg, but a slightly larger spike all things considered. It's on par with Eviscerate + Exe Strike in my book and probably so since with 4 swings, that's more chances to crit and if their hp is 50% or lower, they're REALLY eating damage.

I'd say go smite in TA and bring Smite Hex and Strength of Honor. Those skills should give you one hell of an edge on your foes.
